Now, somehow without my permission and absolutely no setting that I can see anywhere, the program has taken it upon itself to create a huge temp folder on my C drive and start downloading misc old temp files here from various synced folders. SugarSync is for people who want to keep things in the CLOUD and synced across computers. I've never seen this in the past several months of happily using SugarSync, but with latest builds (and the horrible beta) SugarSync is getting worse and not better. SugarSync, I DID NOT ASK YOU to just start downloading old deleted or temporary files and placing them without my permission on my computer. Suddenly I see SugarSync today has got a ton of pending downloads, and when I go to File Transfer Status, I see it is downloading a TON of OLD and deleted files from old synced folders and placing them in some new "tempmappedfolders" directory hidden in my c:\users\appdata folder on my PC.

Topic by Brett Henrichsen SummarySugarSync has created a TEMPMAPPEDFOLDERS in my APPDATA and is downloading old files there. It does look a very good programme, and sorry to be such a dummy. Is there a storage area for documents that have been finished with, but need saving, and not syncing.

I want to use it as a back up, just for this computer at present as my Mac needs repair. How do I go back to the beginning and set this up correctly? I thought that only stuff in the Magic Briefcase would be synced. I end up in a panic and pull out the internet key, before it goes over my daily limit. I moved files from the documents to desktop, but it has found them - even an audio book I "hid". I do not know why or where it has got them all from. Stuff is being synced that I do not want, and also files are downloaded that I did not ask for nor need. I am new to this and do not fully understand what is entailed, and I certainly did not when I set it up. Topic by Victoria Squirrel SummaryIt is using all my internet units - I cannot stop it and it is becoming expensive. However, their original source folders have been deleted, and I do not see an option to delete the photos from the Photos page on the SugarSync website. Other unexpected outcome: there are still photos present in my Photo Album.

It would be nice if SugarSync had a "delete everything & start over" option somewhere under the Account page, for use in situations like this. I submitted a report ticket, but have yet to hear back (although it's only been 24 hours, on a weekend to boot). The only thing still around is my Magic Briefcase, which contains about 20 Megabytes of material. I have used the "Reclaim Storage" command and cleared out all the orphaned files it reported, as well as deleting everything that appeared in the "Disconnected Folders" list. I'm trying to wipe out all my cloud data in order to start over (after doing some cleaning on my local drives) but SugarSync still reports that 4.5 GB are in use.
